Frank Wendell Sayer, 95, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Brier Hill, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

No services will be observed.

Born September 5, 1914 in Brier Hill, he was the son of Frank B. and Claudia (Weathrup) Sayer.

Mr. Sayer graduated in 1936 from St. Lawrence University where he wrestled and played football.

He retired from Alcoa Aluminum and Galion Iron Works. Mr. Sayer was a pioneer in computers and enjoyed gardening and reading.

He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Janice and Dan Roseberry of Dover, and Jill Sayer of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren, Corey, Ben, and Laura Sayer, and Judy and Andy (Lauren) Roseberry, and Jane (Rob) Maurer; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Phelps) Sayer; two sons, Jeffrey and Joel Sayer; four brothers; and one sister.

No services will be observed.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crestwood Care Center- Station 3.
