Frank C. Chase, 92, formerly of 2 Kent St. Massena died Sunday evening (December 30, 2012) at the Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and hospice care.
A Memorial Mass for Frank C. Chase will be held Thursday (January 3, 2013) noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
Surviving Frank is his son, Tyler of Massena; four daughters, Caroline and husband Basil Congro of Cape Cod , MA, Ellen and husband Jeff Gaebel, of Watertown, Susan and husband Donald Noel of Chicago ,IL and Mary Kay and husband David Fish of Massena; and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Frank was born in Massena August 16, 1921 the son of Warren and Mayme (Bero) Chase. He was a graduate of Massena High School. Frank proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Following his discharge started his work career at Alcoa where he retired as an inspector in Shipping after 43 years of dedicated service. A marriage to Glennis MacLennan ended in divorce.
He was a 25 year Member of the Alcoa Club, a member of the VFW Post # 1143 and the American Legion Post # 79. Frank was an avid reader and awarded Reader of the Year from the V.A. Warren Public Library. He was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart.
At the family’s request memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
