Funeral services for Evelyn Adel Bishop Middlemiss, age 84, of Ogdensburg will be held at Frary Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at 3:00PM at Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street. Burial will be held in the spring. Mrs. Middlemiss passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Riverledge United Helpers Nursing Home.
Evelyn is survived by her sister, Irene Bailey of Palmetto, FL; one son, Norman Middlemiss, and his companion, Sheryl Kolton; four daughters, Sherrie Stanton, and her husband, Robert, Holly Middlemiss, Robin Middlemiss, and her companion, Tim Perry and Tammy Middlemiss, and her companion, Tim Wilcox; and nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Evelyn was predeceased by one grandchild.
Evelyn was born in Lisbon on May 26, 1929. She graduated from Canton High School. After graduation she went on to work for local attorney, Erick Gordon, of Ogdensburg, for many years. Evelyn also graduated from Canton ATC as a nurse’s aide. Evelyn married Clarence Walter Middlemiss (Joe) and together they raised five children. Joe predeceased her in 1979. Evelyn lived most of her life in Canton until her last stroke, where she then moved into United Helpers Rehabilitation Center, where she spent her last days.
Evelyn enjoyed NASCAR racing, figure skating, puzzles and her eagle collection.
