Ernest J. "Butch" Brunet Jr., 66, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 18th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Hermon with David Hart, pastor of the Presbyterian Stone Church and First Congregational Church of Ogdensburg officiating and burial in Hermon Cemetery.
Ernest was born September 1, 1946 in Gouverneur, the son of Ernest and Audelia Hale Brunet. He was employed at St. Joe Mineral Company in Balmat, worked as a caretaker at Weller Mountain Hunting Club, and operated the family dairy farm near Kents Corners. Ernest enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and using his carpentry skills.
Ernest is survived by two daughters, Laurie and Jerry Wood of Massena and Chrissy and Bill Wolfendale of Maryland; a son, Brian "Butch" and Sharon Brunet of DeKalb Jct; nine grandchildren, Korey Kendall, Luke Brunet, Scotty Wolfendale, Lyndsay Brunet, Colin Brunet, Megan Wolfendale, Kelsey Souza, Shayne Brunet, and Spencer Wood; two sisters, Elaine and Carl Brunet of Gouverneur and Janet and Dean Hitchman of Potsdam; and several nieces and nephews.
Ernest was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Josie Prashaw and Jackie Willard; and a brother, Stanley Barr.
