Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Campbell, 87, of 50 Windsor Road, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 22, 2010 at the Highland Nursing Home, Massena, where she had been resident since June.
Elizabeth was born July 13, 1923 in Valley River, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Pasieka Lucko. She graduated from high school in Welland, Ontario. On August 4, 1951, she married Sydney T. Campbell in Welland with Rev. D.D. Davidson. Mr. Campbell predeceased her on December 28, 2001.
Before moving to Massena in September 1960, she worked at a factory in Welland. She was a homemaker and sold AVON for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and an active volunteer for the Humane Society. She enjoyed the stock market, cooking, gardening and playing Scrabble.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children and their spouses, Colin and Mary Ann Campbell of Massena, Virginia and James Baughn of Portland, OR and James S. and Julie Campbell of Massena; three grandchildren, Katie, Stephen, and Cristy Campbell; a great granddaughter, Allison; two sisters, Aleksandra Jewell and Diana Barnhart and her husband, Ron, all of Welland; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Sadie Reale.
Friends are invited to a memorial service Monday, 2:00 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena with Rev. Jeffrey V. Aiosa, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
