Funeral services for Edna Mix, age 96, formerly of Hamilton Street, Ogdensburg will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. David Piatt officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Star will meet at the funeral home Tuesday night. Mrs. Mix passed away, Sunday, November 4, 2012 at River Ledge Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Mix is survived by six sons, James Mix, Ogdensburg, Charles and Joyce Mix of Ft. Meyers, FL, Lawrence and Bonita Mix, Ogdensburg, David Mix, Ogdensburg, Richard and Louise Mix, of Fultonham, and Donald and Leslie Mix, of Ogdensburg; a sister in-law, Florence Roulston; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty seven great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Robert Roulston; and three sisters, Dorothy MacCallum, Gladys Roulston, and Millie Cadham.
Edna Mix was born on January 26, 1916, the daughter of Harvey and Ida Hay Roulston. She attended schools in Montreal, Canada. She married Arnold Mix on April 18, 1938 in Depeyster. He predeceased her on March 16, 1994. Mrs. Mix was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening, and reading.
