Funeral services for Dorothy Cooper Labertrandie, 89, of 805 Knox Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Stitt officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m.
Mrs. Labertrandie passed away on June 20, 2011 at James River Convalescent Center in Newport News, Va.
Mrs. Labertrandie is survived by one daughter, Margaret Calver and her husband Theodore of Yorktown, Va.; one grandson of Greenfield, Mass.; two granddaughters, Rebecca Brown of Edmond, Okla., and Samantha Calver-Jones of Newport News, Va.; and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Labertrandie was born on April 28, 1922 in Brushton, the daughter of Orson and Margaret Martin Cooper.
She graduated from Brushton High School.
She married Jerry Labertrandie on November 15, 1942 at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton with Julian O’Brien officiating. He passed away in 1987.
She worked for the New York Telephone Company, retiring as a Chief Operator.
Mrs. Labertrandie was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Zonta Club of Ogdensburg, and a life member of The Telephone Pioneers of America Potsdam. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Choir.
