Dorothea P. Davies, 91, a resident of Queensbury, N.Y., and formerly of DeKalb Junction and Hermon, passed away on Friday June 25, 2010 at the Stanton Nursing Center, Queensbury.
She was born on December 28, 1918 in DeKalb Jct, NY and was the daughter of the late Everett and Grace (Eddy) Piercy.
Dorothea graduated from Hermon High School and CCBI in Syracuse. She worked for 17 years for the power and light company followed by working in the dental office of Dr. Dean Hart. During WW II Mrs. Davies was very active in the American Red Cross, along with being an air raid warden and a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. In April of 1954 she married the late Stanley J. Davies. He predeceased her in January 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. David E. Davies of Winter Park, FL and Blair S. Davies of Queensbury. She is also survived by one sister Virginia Wells of DeKalb Jct, several nieces and nephews and a life long friend Frances Thieme.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:30 am on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Rd. Queensbury.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 10:00 to the time of the service at the funeral home.
