A memorial service for Doris F. Reed, age 95, of Buford, GA and formerly of Ogdensburg will be held at a later date at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Pine Hill Cemetery in Eel Weir. Mrs. Reed passed away on Sunday Nov 4, 2012 at Embracing Hospice Andrew T. Parker Hospice House in Snellville, GA.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeannine Dodds of Dacula, GA and Kimberly Andrews and her husband James of Buford, GA; three grandchildren, Stephen Dodds and his wife Debra of Cohocton, Randy Dodds of Dacula, GA and Eric Dodds and his wife Virginia of Largo, FL; great grandchildren Heather, Stephanie and David M. Dodds; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; two sisters, Eunice Murray and Nancy Ochsenwald; and two brothers, Dr. George Arnold and Richard Arnold.
She was born on May 7, 1917 in Watertown, the daughter of George Warde and Myrtle (Tuttle) Arnold. She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy and the Roethel Business School. She married Clarence S. Reed on February 17, 1936 at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Theresa.
Doris was employed as a secretary/accountant for Pepsi Cola Bottlers in Ogdensburg for 14 years, and in1984, she relocated to FL with her daughter Kim. In 2005 Doris along with her daughter, Kim and son-in law, Jim relocated to Buford, GA.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and in her later years was a volunteer teacher for elementary students in Largo, FL.
