OGDENSBURG – Funeral services for Doris E. Scovil LaRock, 75, of 416 Patterson St., will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Laurena Wickham Will officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on October 13, at Frary Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mrs. LaRock passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2010 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. LaRock is survived by ten children, Rebecca and her husband, Christopher Claxton, of Ogdensburg, Leon and his wife, Katherine LaRock, of Ogdensburg, Pamela and her husband, James Lalonde, of Madrid, Raymond and his wife, Kelly LaRock, of Lisbon, Karen and her husband, Mark Watson of Cleveland, Lisa and her husband, Frederick Hanss, of Potsdam, Mary Beth LaRock of Ogdensburg, David LaRock of Ogdensburg, Daren LaRock and his wife, Cassandra, of Lisbon, Dawn and her husband, Richard Lockwood, of Ogdensburg; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a very dear friend, Grace Thomas, of Ogdensburg.
She was predeceased by her brother, George Arthur LaRock, on May 31, 1954.
Mrs. LaRock was born on July 13, 1935 in Lisbon, the daughter of Leon and Lila (Mott) Scovil. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952. She married Leon LaRock which ended in divorce.
She worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Therapy Aide, retiring in October 7, 1997.
Mrs. LaRock enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and gardening. She was fond of animals of all kinds, especially her dog Dobbie, and her cat, and was well known for taking care of all animals that were in need of extra TLC.
