POTSDAM -- Mr. Donald K. Raymo Sr. age 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 5th at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he had a patient since November 28th.
Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Monday, December 11th from 3-7 p.m. A memorial service for Donald will be held on Tuesday the 12th at the Christian Fellowship Center in Madrid, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ben Levendusky celebrant. There will be a luncheon to follow at the church and then a burial at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam.
Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Donald is survived by his son, Donald K. “PeeWee” Raymo Jr.; a daughter, Cindy Smith and her companion Gary Green; grandchildren Tammy, Kimberly and Bruce Jr; and eight great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ann Raymo who died April 6, 2016.
Donald was an avid hockey player and a dedicated Clarkson hockey fan. He loved going to watch the girls play. He never missed a game. Donald himself played up until December of 2016. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies at McDonalds. He was a Potsdam Village employee for many years retiring at the age of 55.
