POTSDAM -- Donald Earl Aiken Dunstone, 74, was born on December 14, 1942, in Potsdam, NY.
Don graduated from Potsdam Central Schools in 1960 and Clarkson University in 1964 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He served in the U.S. Army and continued working at Redstone Arsenal until his retirement.
He was an avid reader, gardener and genealogist. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by 4 daughters; Pamela Coates, Candie Richard, Dawn Longtin, and Cheri Jackson, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert L. (Larry) Dunstone and wife, Becky of Liverpool, NY and a sister, Jayne Enochs and husband, Henry of Gladstone, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mildred, grandson, Jonathan Jackson, granddaughter, Nicole Mason, son-in-law, Daniel Longtin, and brother-in-law, Mario Luongo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama.
The family received friends at Spry Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.
A graveside service was held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Maple Hill Cemetery.
