MASSENA -- Delima Diagostino, 91, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, formerly of Massena, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Legacy Place Twinsburg in Ohio. Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery.
Delima was born on November 23, 1926 in Williamstown, Ontario, the daughter of Zotique and Delima (Poirier) Vaillancourt and attended school in Cornwall, Ontario. She married Dominic (Nick) Diagostino on September 1, 1947. Delima worked with Nick in various businesses over the years and they developed and ran the Cedar View Golf Course with Walt and Jeanette Aslanian. She loved puzzles, reading, sewing, and cooking and baking and she especially loved her family. If visiting all of them had been within her control, you would never have found her at home.
Delima is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Leslie) Rachocki of Sagamore Hills Ohio; two sisters, Jeanette Aslanian of Syracuse, and Therese Dumond of Cornwall, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years; her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions in Delima's memory may be made to the Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund or to a charity of your choice.
