Mr. David ”Shine” Kennedy, 70, of 585 South Main Street, passed away early Saturday morning at his home, where he was under the loving care of his son and daughter-in-law and Hospice.
Shine was born January 31, 1943 in Potsdam, the son of the late Roy and Muriel Root Kennedy and was a graduate of Potsdam High School. While in high school, he played hockey having been the first team to play in Canada.
Shine was a laborer working for various companies. Most recently he was a professional painter with Baker Painting in Potsdam. He truly enjoyed socializing with his friends and traveling.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Terri Kennedy of Massena; four grandchildren, Tia, Tyler, Savanna, and Myliah; his sister, Nancy and Smith Warren of Colton; and many nieces and nephews.
Shine was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sue Ann Grant on March 6, 2013.
