LISBON -- A Funeral Mass for Curtis G. Tacy, age 75, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.
Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chateaugay.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Mr. Tacy passed away May 13 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving are his children, Susan Chevrier of Malone, Bethann (Scott) Bruette of Lima, Christopher (Sherry) Tacy of Basom, and Darrell (Julie) Tacy of Charlotte NC; grandchildren Nathen Chevrier, Conner Chevrier and Makenna Chevrier, Zachary Tacy and Jack Tacy; a brother, Kenneth “Jerry” (Janet) Tacy of Malone, Philip (Linda) Tacy of Burke, Johnny Tacy of Malone, Steve Tacy of Chateauguay; sisters Janice (Alton) Cook of Burke, Elaine Labarre of Chateauguay; and a brother in law, Keith Trudeau of Burke NY.
His wife Bonnie Tacy and sister Linda Trudeau predeceased him.
Curtis was born on June 10, 1942, in Ellenburg, a son of the late Ellsworth & Rita (Durkee) Tacy.
He graduated from Chateauguay High School, and later was enlisted in the United States Marine Corp from 1964 – 1968.
A previous marriage to Sherry Swift ended, and he later married Bonnie Sharpstene in March of 1985.
From 1964 to 1974 he worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in the Infirmary Department, and then owned and operated a farm in Burke until 1982. He then became a NYS Correctional Officer at the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility until his retirement in 2005.
Curtis enjoyed being outdoors, tinkering, yard work, working with tools, spending time with his grandchildren and being on the internet.
