Mr. Clayton H. Miller, 80, of 75 Prospect Ave, Massena, passed away Wednesday evening, December 26, 2012 at Fletcher-Allen Health Center, Burlington, Vt., where he had been a patient since December 10.
Clayton was born October 27, 1932 in Churubusco, the son of the late William and Della Demarse Miller. He was a graduate of Chateauguay High School.
On September 19, 1952, he entered the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged on September 28, 1956.
On May 16, 1953, while stationed at Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Macon, Georgia, he married Lillie A. Gillett with Father Jellico officiating.
Clayton entered the apprenticeship electrician program at Reynolds Metals, where he continued to work until his retirement in January 1995 after 33 years of service.
Clayton was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart and enjoyed playing sports and fishing. He was an avid sportsman.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillie; two children, Cara and Robert Rowe of North Tonowanda, and Darin Miller and his wife, Amy Cusack of Massena; a grandson, Brody; two sisters, Leona Styslo of Weatherfield, Conn., and Cecilia Barnett of Jackpot, NV; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, William, Locksley, Dorrance, and Glenn Miller; and his sisters, Madeline Pazen and Beulah Ezro.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Manfred officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
