MASSENA -- Mr. Christopher Thomas Martinez, 46, of 83 West Hatfield Street, tragically passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2017, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Chris was born May 22, 1970, in New York City, the son of Charlene Brower Martinez and was a 1988 graduate of Massena High School.
Chris worked for a time in New York at Ellie Tahari and locally worked at Wilson’s Leather, P&C Foods, and Bon-Ton.
He cherished the times he spent partying with his friends, going to the movies, and going out to eat. Chris also enjoyed having “girl talk” in the garden with his dear friend, Cathy.
Chris lived and enjoyed his life to the fullest and lived by the motto, “May the bridges I burn light the way!”
Chris is survived by his adopted mom, Glenda Kent of Massena; his chosen mother, Erica Barnes of Akwesasne; his chosen sisters and brother, Robin, Patti, Becky, Allena, and Nolan; numerous friends including, Cathy Davis and Robin Taylor and his beloved puppy, BooBoo; his aunt, Martha Brower; his uncles, Howard (Christy) Brower, Alan (Anita) Brower, Mark (Marilyn) Brower, and Stephen (Kris) Brower; and many cousins.
Chris was predeceased by his mother, Charlene on October 19, 2005, and his beloved, Lollipop.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be celebrated later in the summer at a date and time to be announced.
