Mrs. Cindy Perault Flint, age 59, of Lakeshore Drive, Norwood, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital.
Funeral Services for Cindy will be held at the Knapp Station Community Church on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lee Sweeney officiating. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 21st from 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00- 9:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Potsdam Humane Society.
Cindy was born on February 3, 1954 in Potsdam, to the late Douglas and Colleen King Perault. She married David Flint on July 23, 1983 at the First Presbyterian Church in Potsdam. Cindy graduated from Potsdam High School in 1972. She was a very active cheerleader and supporter of athletics. Cindy obtained her Master’s Degree in English Education from SUNY Potsdam and was a member of the Alpha Delta sorority. She taught 7th grade English at Massena Central School for 27 years (1983-2010) and was a longtime member of the Norwood Library Board.
Cindy loved being around children, using her humor in the classroom to make her students feel welcomed and loved. She could light up a room with her quick wit, her love of practical jokes and her ability to make people smile. She was a caring, supportive wife, mother, sister, aunt and teacher. She was always there lending support to others.
Cindy is survived by her husband, David C. Flint; her son, Daniel Flint; her brother, Douglas Perault and his companion, Diana Howie, all of Norwood; as well as her nieces, Lori Donovan of Maryland and Kimberly Schade of Connecticut.
