Mrs. Carol F. Wheeler, age 79, of Potsdam, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Gulfside Regional Hospice House in Zephyrhills, Florida. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Gulfside Regional Hospice @5760 Dean Dairy Road Zephyrhills, Florida 33541 or at www.grhospice.org. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Friday, February 15th from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral Service for Carol will be held at the Garner Funeral Service on Saturday, February 16th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Lucia celebrant. Burial will take place at the West Potsdam Cemetery.

Carol was born December 14, 1933 in Conifer, New York to Clarence and Elizabeth Boyer Laramay. She attended Potsdam Schools. She married Lyle F. Wheeler on April 13, 1954 in Potsdam, New York.
Carol was employed at Potsdam Central School for 26 years and retired as Food Service Manager at the High School. She was a communicant of St Mary’s parish and a devoted follower of St. Jude.
Carol enjoyed her family, friends, going to camp, fishing, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, traveling, reading, crafts, and quilting.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Lyle, on February 16, 2007.
She is survived by her three children, John of Potsdam, Michael of Germantown, Maryland and Jill of Central Square; four grandchildren, Shannon (Scott) Adams of Midlothian, Virginia, John Leo wheeler of Potsdam, Christopher and Erin Neverette of Central Square; and a sister, Peggy (Jack) Downing of Braedenton, FL.
