Private funeral services for Beverly J. Dashnaw, age 85, of Kissimmee, FL and formerly of Heuvelton will be held on Thursday, Oct 11, 2018 beginning with calling hours from 12 – 2 p.m. followed by the service at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Nichols officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton. Mrs. Dashnaw passed away on Thursday, Oct 4, 2018 at the Osceola Reginal Medical Center in Kissimmee, FL surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving is her husband Howard E. Dashnaw of Kissimmee, FL; a son, William (Shirley) Dashnaw of Heuvelton; three daughters, Kathy (Steven) Bracy of Potsdam, Debra Ann (Bruce) Ward of St. Cloud, FL and Sonya Dashnaw of Kissimmee, FL; a half-sister, Bertha (Gary) Haight of Tavares, FL; three half-brothers, James (Joan) Dashnaw of Black Lake, Gary (Ginger) Dashnaw of West Virginia and Larry (Zhuong) Dashaw of Kissimmee, FL; special family members, Joan Dashnaw of Ogdensburg, Betty Kentner of Waddington and Arloween (Jack) Eurto of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Two half-brothers, Julius and John Dashnaw; and special family members, Helen & Wendall Yerdon, Charles Dashnaw and George Kentner predeceased her.
Beverly was born on February 5, 1933 in Pontiac, MI, a daughter of the late Hilda Thayer. She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for her education, and later married Howard E. Dashnaw on March 31, 1949 at the Galilee Methodist Church.
After raising her children, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Kissimmee, FL for 14 years. She retired in 1988. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family.
