Bernard Francis Weller died at the age of 87 on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, where he was a resident.
A funeral for Bernard will be held Saturday, February 9, 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, with Pastor Lee Sweeney officiating. A spring burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Parishville. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Bernard Francis Weller was born on February 8, 1925, the son of the late William and Marion Taylor Weller. He attended Parishville schools. In June 1944 he married the late Gladys Greenwood. He and Gladys had four sons Gerald, David, Delton and Shane. Gladys predeceased him in 1988.
Bernard worked for Green's sawmill in West Stockholm until his retirement. He lived in Parishville for many years before moving to Mayfield Apartments in Potsdam, where he lived until going to St. Joseph's home in Odgensburg. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his great grandchildren; going for rides, and trading cars.
His son Shane Weller, a brother Lawrence and Ruth Weller, his sisters Helen Barney and Carol Sharlow, several adoring grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, survive him.
Bernard was predeceased by his sons Gerald, David and Delton, his brother Donald, sister Alberta Planty, brothers-in-law Dale Barney, Bernard Sharlow and Arthur Planty.
Memorial contributions in Bernard's name can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
