NORFOLK -- Mr. Bernard G. “Bun” Hanson, 75, of State Route 420, unexpectedly passed away Saturday afternoon, November 4, 2017 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Bun was born February 22, 1942 in Potsdam, the son of the late Howard and Agatha M. “Gay” (Shatraw) Hanson and was a graduate of Potsdam High School.
Bun was a hard-working man who dedicated his life to work as a self-employed handy-man. He also worked for a time at Hinkels and McCoy and was a member of the Laborer’s Local Union, based in Massena. Bun also cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a member of the Potsdam Elks Lodge.
Bun is survived by his three daughters, Lois Bump and her husband, Floyd “Sonny” of Parishville; Lauri Corbett and her husband, Mike; and Lisa Waite of Parishville; his grandchildren, Allisia, Floyd III, Crysta, Heather, Brooke and Brock; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Wade Jr., and Addy, and was anxiously awaiting the birth of two more. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Sampier and her husband, Dale of North Lawrence; and his companion of many years, Linda Barto of Vermont.
Friends may call Friday 2-4:00 p.m. at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where a celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Dunning, officiating.
