Arnold D. “Tiny” Aldridge Jr., age 44, of Edwards and formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at his home under the loving care of his family.
Arnold’s calling hours will be on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. His funeral service will be on Friday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.frenchfuenralhomes.com.
Arnold was born on October 22, 1968 in Gouverneur, to Arnold D. and Nora J. (Reynolds) Aldridge Sr. He attended Gouverneur Central School and then was a bus driver for the Gouverneur Central School district for 22 years. He married Verna I. O’Shea on November 8, 2008 at the Gouverneur VFW. A previous marriage to Glennis Woodrow ended in divorce.
Arnold was a member of the Sons of the Legion, the DADS of the Gouverneur VFW and was a former member of the Gouverneur Fire Department. He enjoyed car shopping, going out dancing, listening to his scanner, going to parades and spending time with his friends and family.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Verna I.O. Aldridge of Edwards; his mother, Nora J. Aldridge of Edwards; a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas J. and Nichole Aldridge of Gouverneur; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn J. and Dale Barker of Edwards; five half brothers-in-law and three half -sisters-in-law; and 55 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews. He was especially close to his niece, Amber and his nephews Christopher, Derek and Hunter. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Arnold D. Aldridge Sr.
