Alyce Adelaide Finley Bacon Clark, 95, Gouverneur, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 15 at her son’s home in Gouverneur.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, with Richard Mayforth officiating, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. with a luncheon to follow. Calling hours will be at the Gouverneur VFW.
Alyce was the daughter of Floyd and Lotti Grace (Horton) Finley, born April 16, 1917 in the town of Macomb.
She was a lifelong resident of the Gouverneur area. She attended a rural school on the California Road in Macomb, worked in a grocery store in Elmdale, at the House of Flowers in Gouverneur, and at Brown’s Jewelry Store for 30 years.
She loved doing things with her family, cooking, baking, going out to eat, caring for her home and yard, and watching television.
She married Roger H. Bacon in 1942, who passed in 1956. In later years, she married John E. Clark from Spragueville who passed in 2003.
Alyce is survived by three loving children Donna Bacon (William) Hance, Kendall, Wanda Bacon (Tom) Reddick, Wellsley, Mass., Roger (Ellen) Bacon, Jr. Gouverneur; 7 grandchildren and 1 step grandchild, Christopher(Cheryl) Reddick Newport News, VA, Clark (Janice) Reddick, Boston, Mass., Heather (David) Manthey Burnt Hills, Scott (Andrea) Bacon, Beacon, Timothy (Jenny) Bacon Pyrities, David Hance Kendall, Daniel (Gretchen) Hance Kendall, Erica (Justin) Frizzell, Edwards; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sisters Marion Wylie and Emma Hittsman and brother Owen Finley.
