Albertine D. Duprey, 93, formerly of Massena

Mrs. Albertine D. Duprey, 93, formerly of 9827 State Highway 56, passed away Monday afternoon, June 7, 2010 at the Highland Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since July.

Albertine was born October 11, 1916 in Mooers Forks, New York, the daughter of Walter and Corinne Favreau Barcomb. She attended schools in Mooers and Mooers Forks. On May 14, 1934, she married Emmett H. Duprey at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Mooers Forks, with Msgr. a.m. Gilbert, officiating. Mr. Duprey predeceased her on June 19, 1980.

She was a homemaker. She was a devout catholic being a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart and the League of the Sacred Heart. She was a former member of the Home Bureau. She enjoyed crafting, hunting, visiting with family and friends, cooking, and her little dog “Blondie”.

She is survived by five daughters, Eileen LaHair and Bernadette Miller, both residents of the Highland Nursing Home, Anna and Neal Miller of Canton, Mary Donie of Brasher Falls, and Marilyn Rivers of Massena; a son and daughter-in-law, Emmett G. and Florence Duprey of Norwood; 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 34 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Barcomb of Ticonderoga; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Ernest W. Duprey in July 1968; two granddaughters, Lori Butterfield and Darlene Kellison; three grandsons, Keith, Kevin, and Karl K. Miller; a great great granddaughter, Shalyee Marie Hippensteel; and two brothers, Floyd and Homer Barcomb.

Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 12:00 noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with her great nephew, Rev. Scott R. Seymour, celebrating and Rev. Donald J. Manfred, con-celebrating. Burial will follow the services in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
