OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Area Zonta Club is seeking applications for the following 2019 awards.
• The High School Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who are pursuing higher education. The award is based upon definite standards relative to scholarship, character, leadership, service to their school and community and their desire to succeed.
• The Young Women in Public Affairs Award recognizes young women, ages 16-19, who demonstrates superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service and civic causes and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.
• Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award is given to a High School Junior or Senior student who performs outstanding community service. Academic achievement is not relevant.
Applications for all three high school awards are accepted from Ogdensburg, Morristown, Lisbon, Heuvleton, and Hammond School Districts.
Additionally, the Zonta Club of Ogdensburg awards the Adult Learner Scholarship. This scholarship is given to a female, non -traditional student who is at least 25 years old, is a permanent resident of St. Lawrence County and live within 25 miles of Ogdensburg. Applicants must have completed at least one year of higher education.
