MASSENA -- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) officers in St. Lawrence County are partnering with the Massena Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation to offer a youth turkey hunt this spring.
The hunt is a two-day event that starts with an educational portion at the Massena Rod and Gun Club at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 21, followed by a hunt day on Saturday, April 22. The time of the hunt has not yet been decided.
The free program is for ages 12 to 15. The gun club is located at 155 Patterson Rd.
Interested youth hunters must possess a New York State small game license and valid turkey tags. The event is free to the participants, and equipment will be provided if necessary.
Signup sheets are available at the Northwood’s Outfitters in Potsdam or St. Lawrence Archery in Massena.
