If it felt unseasonably hot Monday in St. Lawrence County, it was.

In fact, it was a record-breaker.

The high temperature recorded in Massena was 86 degrees, two degrees hotter than the previous record of 84 degrees set in 2002, according to WeatherUnderground.com, an online weather forecasting and recording service.

The low yesterday was 53 degrees, much warmer than the record low of 20 degrees set in 2003, WeatherUnderground says.

The average high for April 16 is 54, and the average low is 33.

Don’t expect the same hot temperatures today, however.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 55 with mostly sunny skies. It should be breezy, with a west wind around 21 miles per hour and gusts as high as 34 mph.

Tonight, expect mostly clear skies, with a low around 30.

Wednesday, the weather service is predicting sunny skies, with a high near 54.

Wednesday night, expect partly cloudy conditions, with a low around 39 and light south wind.
