POTSDAM – Squared Circle Wrestling (2CW) will bring former WWE legend Matt Hardy and many other professional wrestlers to Pine Street Arena Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. for a show that 2CW spokesperson Kevin Parker says will “blow the roof off the place.”

Parker, known to many within the wrestling community as Jack Trades, for his many jobs and talents, said 2CW is “all about entertaining the fans.”

2CW recently held their first internet free-for-view in Watertown in April, which received over 7,000 unique hits during its live airing. Parker added “there have been 20,000 views of the show since then.”

The show was attended by over 1,100 people and 2CW was the number one trending topic on twitter that night. “TNA cant say they’ve done that,” said Parker.

Parker also noted they held three free shows during the New York State Woodsmen’s Field Days in Booneville bringing in legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and current TNA Knockout Champion Mickie James.

2CW originated in Syracuse in 2006 and regularly holds shows across New York including Utica, Binghamton, and Watertown.

Asked, why they chose Potsdam, Parker quickly responded “why not Potsdam?”

“We’ve had a lot of requests from fans in the North Country to come to St. Lawrence County, said Parker.

“We like smaller venues to create an intimate atmosphere as fans get a chance to be up close to both the action during the show and they can meet all the wrestlers before and after the show,” Parker said.

2CW has a strong following, called the “2CW faithful,” who regularly tailgate before shows and provide a podcast that is in its fourth year. Parker said they typically have a tent set up with giveaways and entertainment leading up to the show.

“The Potsdam show also falls on my birthday so I expect there to be cakes and a party in the parking lot,” joked Parker.

Matches on the card include former WWE superstar Colin Delany versus Punisher VanSlyke, internet sensation Kevin Steen taking on Watertown product Jay Freddie, and Matt Hardy will challenge for the 2CW Heavyweight Title against the unique Isys Ephex.

“If we have a good turnout we’d like to come to Potsdam two or three times a year,” Parker noted.

A meet and greet with Matt Hardy starts at 5 p.m. with $20 for a picture or autograph or $30 for both.

General admission tickets can be bought at Kinney Drugs, 48 Maple St. for $10. Tickets are $30 for front-row reserved and can be purchased at www.store.2cw.com.
