CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County and the NYS DEC will present a one-day workshop on community trees for municipal workers, groundskeepers, planning board & tree commission members, landscapers and tree care professionals, and all others who want better outcomes and reduced costs for establishing community trees.
The class will be on Wednesday, May 1, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Learning Farm Classroom, 2043 State Highway 68, Canton.
Topics include: site assessment & modification, species and cultivar selection & evaluation, planting techniques for better survival, early maintenance, training pruning and tree inventories. Cost is $15, and lunch is provided.
