Kaitlin Monte of New York City, formerly of Pittsford and a 2006 alumna of Clarkson University’s Clarkson School, was named second runner-up at Saturday night’s Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After completing her year at the Clarkson School, Kaitlin transferred to the University of Tampa, where she graduated at age 19 with a bachelor’s degree in performing arts and a concentration in public relations and consumer psychology.
As Miss New York, Kaitlin advocates an anti-bullying platform through school and community seminars and corporate partnerships.
In addition to her work to end bullying, Kaitlin is executive director for the non-profit IMPACT which places top students and young professionals on boards and committees for schools and non-profits and provides entrepreneurial guidance. IMPACT is a branch of Project Empower for which Kaitlin serves as co-head of communications.
