NORFOLK – A woman who allegedly drove the getaway van for a reckless ATV driver who eluded police has been charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, by state police for allegedly stealing the ATV.

Meghan C. Angus, 18, Snye, Quebec, was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday on State Rt. 56 in Norfolk when state police pulled over her van seeking the driver of the ATV.

Earlier, St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and state police had been pursuing Cory T. Edwards, 26, also of Snye, who while driving the stolen ATV on Rt. 56, refused to pull over for police and eluded them by driving off the road into the woods.

Witnesses later spotted Edwards leaving the woods and getting into the van driven by Angus.

Edwards faces numerous charges, including third-degree criminal possession of stolen property valued over $3,000, a class D felony.
