OGDENSBURG -- State police said a woman was jailed on two felony charges Sunday morning following a prison contraband complaint.
Kenya S. Chapman, 20, Rockaway Beach, arrived at the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility for a visit shortly after 9 a.m. and a NYS DOCCS K-9 alerted officers to a bag she was carrying.
Chapman was charged at 1 Corrections Way with first-degree possession of prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 10:39 a.m.
Her arrest status was not made available.
A search of the bag yielded roughly 30 suboxone sublingual strips concealed in the bag. She was processed at the state police station in Ogdensburg without incident, troopers said.
She was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court by Judge Michael Hebert and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $500 bail or $1,000 bond.
