HOPKINTON — One woman was treated for burns to her forehead during a fire that destroyed her home on White Hill Road that she lived in with her four children.
Parishville Fire Chief Ed Cool said the blaze was reported by a passerby around 4 p.m. but that the house was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on scene.
Firefighters from Parishville, Potsdam and Hannawa Falls all responded to help put the fire out, he said.
The woman was brought to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for what Cool described as “superficial” burns. The children were not injured.
Red Cross volunteers were on scene assisting the family who lost everything in the fire.
“It’s a total loss,” Cool said of the 3044 White Hill Road residence.
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
Cool said the fire originated in the bedroom area.
The Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Volunteer Fire Department was on standby at their station for Parishville during the incident.
