MASSENA – A Massena woman was charged with resisting arrest after state police executed a bench warrant Saturday at 5:20 p.m.
Cortney L. Garris, 25, was charged with resisting arrest after troopers attempted to execute a bench warrant for failure to appear on March 11, 2014 to answer charges from a previous arrest.
When Garris answered the door for troopers and was told she was under arrest she allegedly closed her door and locked it. Troopers eventually took Garris into custody and she was charged with resisting arrest.
Garris was arraigned in Massena Town Court and was released on her own recognizance on the resisting arrest charge.
She is scheduled to reappear in Louisville Town Court on April 2, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.
Garris then posted $250 cash bail for the bench warrant and is scheduled to reappear in the Malone Town Court on March 25 at 1 p.m.
