PITCAIRN — A Tupper Lake woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle after hitting a mail box and fleeing the scene, according to state police.

Jacqueline M. Skelling, 24, was charged at 3:23 p.m. with first-degree aggravated DWI, felony, first-degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, failure to keep right and front passenger age 4-6 restraint violation.

State police say Skelling was not drinking alcohol, but a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert determined Skelling was impaired by drugs. A blood sample was taken.

Skelling was released under probation supervision.
