POTSDAM — Potsdam police charged a woman Sunday morning after she struck a police officer and spit on an emergency room nurse at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Maria J. Merlos, 19, was charged at 3:10 a.m. with two counts of second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct: unreasonable noise.
Police responded to a report of a disorderly female yelling and attempting to leave the hospital, officers said.
Merlos was charged and released on appearance tickets returnable to Potsdsam court Nov. 2.
