POTSDAM – A former Potsdam sorority treasurer from Ithaca is accused of stealing more than $13,000 from the club’s account between 2011 and early this year.
After a lengthy investigation by Potsdam and Ithaca police, Clarissa K. Evenden, 22, was charged Friday with third-degree grand larceny.
Evenden cashed numerous checks made out to her using the sorority bank account and also made several online transactions, according to police.
She was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and released to return at a later time.
