POTSDAM – A Winthrop woman was jailed Wednesday for intentionally starting a fire that destroyed an apartment house Oct. 25 on Pierrepont Avenue, according to Potsdam police.
Brandi Lee Saumier, 21, was charged with first-degree arson and sent to St. Lawrence Correctional facility on $5,000 bail, police said.
Police said Saumier started the fire in her first floor bedroom with nine occupants in the home.
No injuries were reported to police.
