POTSDAM – A Winthrop man was injured after falling asleep at the wheel and striking a culvert and rock wall on State Highway 11B early Friday morning, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Adam M. Dishaw, 18, was reportedly the driver.

Dishaw was driving west on State Highway 11B when he allegedly fell asleep causing his vehicle to leave the right should of the road leading to the crash, officers said.

He was reportedly transported by the Potsdam Rescue Squad to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries.

Deputies were also assisted on scene by the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department and Potsdam police.
