BRASHER -- A Winthrop man faces several charges including driving while intoxicated following a reported personal-injury accident on County Route 55 Feb. 1, according to state police.
Ryan P. Buckley, 37, was charged with first-offense DWI, speeding, moving from a lane unsafely and a seatbelt violation at 4:01 a.m., police said.
Troopers responding to County Route 55 near the West Cotter Road discovered that Buckley lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, which left the roadway, struck a culvert, and came to rest on the passenger side of the vehicle.
He was reportedly taken for treatment of a head injury to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Tri-Town Rescue.
Buckley consented to tests for alcohol and drug content at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Troopers did not report his blood-alcohol content. Buckley was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate, operating a vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered vehicle, officers said.
He was released on appearance tickets returnable to court at a later date, officers said.
