Winter weather advisory to replace wind chill advisory as snow, sleet, ice expected Saturday in St. Lawrence County, NWS says

A wind chill warning ends this morning at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a winter weather advisory which runs from 3 a.m. Saturday morning until 7 a.m. on Sunday in St. Lawrence County, the National Weather Service (NWS) says.

Temps will climb throughout the day with today’s high expected to be near 16 and wind chill values of -16, NWS says.

Snow is likely tonight with a low around 16 and south winds around 9 mph.

There will be a mix of snow and ice mainly on Saturday morning and afternoon creating possible hazardous driving conditions as three to five inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice are expected, the service says.

Snow could fall at a rate of one inch per hour at times with freezing rain and mixed precipitation expected Saturday evening through Sunday morning, NWS says.

Saturday’s high will be near 29 and there is a 100 percent chance of precipitation.

The overnight low Saturday will be around 29 with a mix of rain, sleet and snow, NWS says.

The forecast through the middle of next week is as follows:

Saturday

Snow. High near 29. Southeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday Night

Snow and sleet likely before 10pm, then sleet likely between 10pm and 11pm, then rain after 11pm. Low around 29. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday

Rain before 9am, then rain and snow likely between 9am and 11am, then a chance of snow after 11am. High near 36. West wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Mostly clear, with a low around 0. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light after midnight.
