A winter weather advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday as three to eight inches of snow is possible, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Snowfall could be heavy at times, with a half inch of snow per hour possible, mainly this afternoon and evening, the service says.
Numerous snow showers and squalls will develop today and transition into light to moderate snow tonight and into Thursday, NWS says.
Visibility may be limited at times when snowfall is heavy and driving conditions will likely be hazardous, the service says.
Winds will be 10 to 15 mies per hours with 25 mph gusts possible. Temps will be in the upper 20s during the day and upper teens overnight.
Snow will likely taper off around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Snow, mainly before 5pm. High near 24. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

A chance of snow before 7pm, then a chance of snow showers between 7pm and midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
