Winter storm warning and hazardous weather advisory remain in effect through Friday as Nor'easter dumps snow on North Country

A winter storm warning and hazardous weather advisory are in effect as snow continues to blanket the north country at a rapid pace.

Although schools are closed for the holidays, Ogdensburg Free Academy is among the schools that have cancelled scheduled extra curricular activities.

*Today: Snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 25. Blustery, with a northeast wind 17 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

*Tonight: Snow. Low around 15. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

*Friday: A chance of snow, mainly before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 23. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

*Friday Night: A slight chance of snow showers after 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 11. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

*Saturday: A chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 24. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
