It will be windy this morning before temperatures drop this afternoon in the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are also warning that, with the recent heavy snows, first freezing temperatures and then thawing, there is the potential for ice breakup and movement with possible ice jams, particularly on the Little Salmon River in the Bombay area of Franklin County. Some minor flooding due to ice jams is occurring on Rt. 32.

Winds will be diminishing and temperatures will be dropping off this afternoon, into the lower 30s, as sunshine emerges in the St. Lawrence Valley. A little rain and then snow might fall but little accumulation is expected.

Tonight temperatures will fall into the teens and winds will diminish before they pick up again tomorrow under partly sunny skies with highs in the 30s.
