A wind chill warning is in effect through 7 a.m. Sunday as temperatures will be dangerously cold in St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service.
Bitterly cold wind chill values of 30 to 45 degrees below zero will continue through tonight with values near 60 below on the higher summits, forecasters say.
The brisk northwest winds will slowly weaken on Saturday with increasing amounts of sunshine, but temperatures will struggle in the negative numbers.
Today the high will be -5 with wind chill values of -37, NWS says. Overnight the low will be -21 with wind chill values of -33.
Temps on Sunday will rise to near 17 with wind chill values still dangerously cold at -36 degrees, the service says.
Snow showers are likely after 7 p.m. on Sunday with about an inch possible, NWS says.
The forecast through the end of next week is as follows:

A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 17. Wind chill values as low as -36. Southwest wind 6 to 16 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
