A wind chill advisory is posted for the North Country for today, tonight and tomorrow, as sub-zero temperatures cover the North Country this morning and northeast winds of around 15 mph are driving wind chill readings to 30 below and lower.

Snow is also a likely weather feature for today and tonight, although we in the North Country won’t be getting the 12-14 inches predicted for other parts the state today and tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The highest snowfall in St. Lawrence County will be in the south, with two to four inches today and one to three inches tonight predicted for Star Lake and Gouverneur, for a total of up to seven inches by tomorrow morning.

Potsdam and Canton are expected to receive one to two inches today and another one to two inches tonight, up to four inches through tonight.

Along the St. Lawrence River, in Massena and Ogdensburg half an inch is expected today and another inch overnight.

A little bit more snow is expected during the day tomorrow.

High temperatures today could rise above aero, but not by much, the NWS says.

Lows tonight will be about 10 below, with northeast winds of about 10 to 15 mph, bringing wind chills tonight down to around minus 25.

It will continue to be cold tomorrow, with highs in the single digits below zero, and there will be a little snow, and wind chills again will be around minus 30, but the sun will be out.

It will continue to be very cold tomorrow night, but on Saturday, the high temperature could reach as high as 20 degrees above zero.
