GOUVERNEUR -- State Senator Patty Ritchie recently visited a longstanding business that is celebrating a significant milestone in 2017.
White’s Lumber is celebrating 125 years in business. The building supply outlet first opened their doors in 1892. Since that time, they have become a staple in the community and have gone on to employ hundreds of area residents, which has had a significant impact on the region’s economy.
To recognize this achievement, Senator Ritchie presented members of the White family, including the businesses’ past president Roger White, Sr, who recently celebrated his 94th birthday, with a Senate proclamation, highlighting the impact this local business has had on the community. White’s Lumber has locations in Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties.
