OGDENSBURG – A physician’s assistant has been added to the staff at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Shanna White, a registered and certified physician assistant, is seeing patients of all ages at the Waddington Health Center, 4 Montgomery Heights, Waddington. Appointments can be made by calling 315-388-7872.
White comes to Claxton-Hepburn from Jonesport, Maine, where she served on the staff of Arnold Memorial Medical Center for four years. White, a family practice certified physician assistant, treats all patients from pediatrics to geriatrics. The scope of her practice includes but is not limited to annual exams, well child exams, routine gynecological care and acute care visits.
White received her Bachelor of Science with a major in nutritional health from the University of Vermont, Burlington, and then went on to Saint Francis University, Loreto, Vermont to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Science.
White is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
“I grew up in Canton and my parents, Lynn and Brett Grant, still live there which makes it very exciting for me to be able to come home and be near my family and also take care of my community,” White said.
Her clinical interests include rural health and medicine and preventative care.
White plans to reside in Canton with her husband, Darren White.
