While the governor’s office is warning parts of New York to be cautious in light of a tornado forecast, St. Lawrence County and the rest of the North Country will likely be spared apocalyptic weather.
All of St. Lawrence County is under a hazardous weather outlook, according to the National Weather Service. They say up to two or even three inches of rain could fall in the next 36 to 48 hours.
The NWS says there is a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain hitting all St. Lawrence County communities between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon, with the odds tapering below 50 percent Tuesday night, spiking back up to 50 percent Wednesday night.
Forecasters are calling for a clear Thursday in most areas and in all communities on Friday.
